Stephen M. Jaeger, P.E., Senior Consultant

Stephen M. Jaeger has over 15 years of experience in noise control and acoustics research, mostly in the field of aeroacoustics.  At CGA, his activities have focused upon acoustical design and noise control for technology facilities, environmental acoustics and litigation support pertaining to architectural acoustics.  Mr. Jaeger also has extensive experience conducting acoustical tests for such clients as Intel, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Applied Materials and the US Navy.

Prior to joining Colin Gordon Associates, he was employed for 12 years as a contractor at NASA Ames Research Center including five years as a Senior Research Engineer for Aerospace Computing, Inc.  During his NASA tenure, Stephen studied airframe and jet engine noise in large-scale wind tunnels.  As part of his research, he worked on phased microphone array measurement techniques, designed instruments and developed methods for reducing flow-induced microphone self-noise.  In addition, he developed two-dimensional sound intensity probes and signal processing methods for locating jet noise sources.  Stephen has also consulted on the acoustical design of wind tunnel test sections, anechoic chambers, and biohabitat payloads for the International Space Station.
